I'm an ex-professional chef who started Cheap Easy Eats when COVID hit. Like many of you, my family of four faced unexpected challenges when lockdowns started.

My culinary training taught me to work with premium ingredients and diverse options. Then suddenly, fresh food became limited, my business was on hold, and our budget tightened significantly. I had to completely rethink my approach to feeding my family.
As a chef, I was used to creating dishes with whatever ingredients I wanted.
When COVID hit, that freedom disappeared. Our local stores had empty shelves where produce should have been. Online deliveries arrived with substitutions I never would have chosen.
And our income wasn’t what it used to be.
I remember staring at a nearly empty vegetable drawer, wondering how I’d turn the odd assortment of items into something my kids would actually eat. That’s when my professional training met our new reality, and Cheap Easy Eats was born!
